Madden’s has distinguished itself by an emphasis on gracious hospitality, quality, and diversity. Our philosophy is simply to provide the best that Minnesota has to offer. Madden’s is currently seeking a seasonal Horticulturist team member who will assist in the planting and maintaining of landscape areas and flower gardens around the resort.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates a EZ-Go or John Deere utility vehicle.
  • Works cooperatively with the Resort Grounds Lead Horticulturalist, other horticulture team members and Grounds Assistant Superintendent
  • Maintains plantings in the flowerbeds on the resort and golf courses.
  • Plants, weeds, waters, and performs other necessary duties to maintain landscaping and gardens.
  • May apply liquid and dry fertilizers and nutrients to flowerbeds and landscaped areas.
  • Assist in directing activities of assistant gardener.
  • Assures all work is done in a safe manner.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Lead Horticulturist and Grounds Assistant Superintendent
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Understands and adheres to Madden’s Smoking and Tobacco Products policy.
  • Attending training and staff meetings.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent listening, speaking, and writing
  • Great decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to work alongside other people and independently.
  • Time management.


Education/Experience:

Valid Drivers license required.


Work Environment:

Work is performed mainly outside in varying weather conditions.  


Physical Demands:

Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly and carry 5 gallon buckets of water.
