Our practice is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager to join our leadership team
This leadership role manages the daily clinical operations and functions as a liaison between staff members, providers, and administrative team. In collaboration with the assigned Director of Clinical Operations, plans and implements the services of the department and is responsible for the scheduling, staffing, and operations for the clinical area. The Nursing Manager promotes and restores patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for patients and families.
Education: Current state RN license required. Current CPR certification.
Experience: Minimum five years of experience as RN; 3-4 years of office supervisory experience.
Physical Demands: Medical office setting, direct patient contact. Light to medium duty. Ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time, bend, reach, push and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Key Responsibility Areas
Clinical/Nursing Operations
Maintains and understanding of office nursing guidelines by writing and updating office policies and procedures.
Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing office program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains nursing supplies inventory; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
Compliance/Safety
Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations
Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records and maintaining all HIPAA policies and procedures.
Employee Relations
Provides leadership and guidance to other nurses and clinical staff
Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and clinical staff.
Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff in time and attendance system; following up on work results and schedules.
Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
Participates in performance evaluations, merit increases and disciplinary actions
Patient Relations
Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
Effectively talks directly to patients on the telephone with the ability to triage clinical needs, knowledge of clinical information from hospital/laboratory systems, ability to assess disease condition and triage.
