The Manager, Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for the development and implementation of clinically relevant pharmacy programs and interventions to enhance quality and safety while striving for economic optimization.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and implements clinical activities for pharmacy staff
  • Monitors effectiveness of and staff compliance with clinical programs
  • Educates residents/interns, case managers, staff nurses, pharmacists
  • Assists in development of selected policies and procedures
  • Mentors pharmacists
  • Oversees clinical pharmacy services and the interaction with other healthcare professionals
  • Competent in electronic order entry and related monitoring activities and assists in developing/revising workflows to meet departmental goals
  • Knowledgeable in investigational protocols and providers oversight of the clinical trials pharmacy staff
  • Provides drug information
  • Attends and participates in committee meetings as assigned and has an active role in the pharmacy and therapeutics committee


PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to eight hours per day and up to three consecutive hours. Standing for up to eight hours per day and up to two consecutive hours. Walking for up to eight hours per day and up to 30 consecutive minutes. Continuously fingering; frequently handling, firm grasping, twisting and turning. Occasionally reaching above shoulder level; frequently looking up. Seldom lifting up to 20 pounds and carrying up to 35 pounds and pushing up to 200 pounds. Occasionally stooping, bending, squatting, crouching and kneeling. Rarely crawling and climbing. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequency. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, far vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and monotony.

EDUCATION:

Pharm.D. pursuit or completion of master's degree or ASHP accredited residency specialty certified preferred. Registered in Pennsylvania or completion of Boards with pending licensure or reciprocation may be accepted. State mandated C.E. (30 hrs/2 yrs).

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years of experience coordinating clinical activities or other pharmacy leadership preferred. Post graduate residency training and board certification preferred.
