We approach patient care from a holistic recovery approach, paying attention to our patients' complex and individualized needs. We are a voluntary facility – patients are here on their own accord, and we do not utilize restraints or forceful measures of treatment.

We are in search of a full time experienced Admissions Coordinator. This position will be a key part of our patient care team.


Job Duties

  • Processes patient referrals, coordinates the admission of patients, and enters patient admission data after all requirements have been met and documented.
  • Conducts initial assessment screening to ensure patients meet the criteria for admission.
  • Answer questions regarding program admissions, providing initial approval on all admits both financially and clinically.
  • Contact appropriate supervisors to secure an order for the admission.
  • Works with the marketing team to provide placement for all clients not being admitted to the program.
  • Obtain pre-certification authorization, explain services and benefits to patients, family members, and significant others.
  • Completing all admission paperwork as required.
  • Establish patient chart, ensuring all documentation is correct within EMR.
  • Provide back-up support for the Business Development Team.
  • Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, clinicians, and other personnel.
  • Communicates pertinent patient information to the care center team.
  • Coordinates with other departments for insurance verification and payer authorization as needed.
  • Have the ability to evaluate clients with mental health disorders as well as substance abuse issues and make appropriate recommendations for placement and level of care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

  • Basic understanding of mental health and psychiatric diagnoses
  • Ability to work independently, and to organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments
  • Strong listening skills and ability to deal with conflict with professionalism and courtesy
  • Positive interpersonal relationship skills, including with persons of all ages and cultures
  • Intermediate computer skills including ability to create documents in various programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to exercise independent judgement

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-years experience in related field required
  • Experience in behavioral health facility preferred

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
