Job Description

We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Porter and Maintenance at a private school in Nolensville, TN. You’ll work in a welcoming school environment with the flexibility to work occasional Sundays. Your duties will include light maintenance, general cleaning, event setups/teardowns, and various facility-related tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance: Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, furniture, and building components (e.g., painting, patching drywall, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, HVAC filter changes, routine inspections).
  • Event Setups & Housekeeping: Receive and organize deliveries, move furniture, set up and strike event functions, and arrange tables and chairs.
  • Cleaning Tasks: Carry out light cleaning and disinfection tasks (e.g., sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, trash removal, debris pickup, floor, and carpet maintenance).
  • Complete work orders and timesheets using a web-based management program.

Pay Rate: $21/hr
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday (7:30 am - 4:00 pm), with occasional Sundays as required.

Work Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • General handyman experience (basic maintenance skills).
  • Must pass TBI criminal background check (required for work in educational facilities with children) and E-Verify check.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to perform physical activities requiring the use of arms, legs, and full body movement (e.g., lifting, balancing, walking, stooping). Must be able to lift and push up to 75 lbs.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves approximately 90% indoor and 10% outdoor work, including long periods of standing, walking, lifting, climbing ladders, reaching, and repetitive movements.
