Position Summary:

The role of an Accounts Payable Specialist is to review and process invoices, audit requests, reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries. The Specialist will also complete intercompany invoices and process all utility invoices. They will also complete any sustainability reports that are requested.

The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Distribute invoices for approval
  • Match purchase orders to invoices
  • Purchase matching for Chemical & Sales
  • Review invoices for accuracy and discrepancies
  • Request coding
  • Code and enter invoices
  • Process weekly payables checks and automatic payment
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Monitor accounts for timely invoicing and payments
  • Utility payments
  • Intercompany billing
  • Other projects as assigned

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily, including all important aspects of the job- whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any duty that occurs at irregular intervals.   • Manages accounts payable
  • Supports and communicates with staff
  • Reviews documents for errors
  • Assists with payments of invoices and wire transfers
  • Monitors other accounts payable items
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 3-5+ years of accounts payable experience
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Positions in this class are typically situated in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • May be exposed to all weather elements due to company locations
