ROLE
We need a Database Administrator II for the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. NIWC Pacific provides advanced technology and integrated solutions to support the mission of the U.S. Navy and other Department of Defense entities. Your role as a Database Administrator II for the NIWC Pacific will be to maintain and optimize databases to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility. This is a full-time opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, configure, and maintain databases.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize as necessary.
  • Ensure data security and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Document database configurations and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of professional experience in database administration.
  • Proficiency in database installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in database administration or a related field.

DESIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Currently hold a DoD CSWF IAT Level 1 certification OR all of the below baseline certifications;
    • A+ CE
    • CCNA-Security
    • CND
    • Network+ CE
    • SSCP
  • OR; Currently hold a DoD CSWF IAT Level 2 certification OR all of the below baseline certifications;
    • CCNA-Security
    • CySA+
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • Security+ CE
    • CND
    • SSCP


LOCATION
  •  San Diego, CA 92152

CLEARANCE
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Must handle classified information in accordance with DoD regulations.
  • Annual security refresher training required.

CLIENT

TRAVEL
  • Travel may be required.

WORK HOURS
  • Full-time = 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day

Other Considerations: applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
