MHP hiring a Residential Program Director to be responsible for the overall administrative, programmatic, clinical, and fiscal operations of a 24/7 Community Residential Rehabilitation program.


The position is located at 1305 East Oak Lane Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19126. This position will pay a salary of $80,000 annually. As an MHP employee, you will have access to the following benefits:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Leads the overall service coordination consistent with MHP & regulatory guidelines; ensures adherence with all accreditation, certification and regulatory standards if applicable; establishes and implements operational procedures and monitors participant visits.
  • Oversees the general program operations, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, staffing structure, and participants daily operations.
  • Supports staff in working directly with participants, including providing programmatic supervision.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve employees’ skill base and setting standards for coaching and appraising employee performance.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed in an accurate, thorough and timely manners.
  • Participates in the administration on call rotation.
  • Provides positive reinforcement and utilize tools to help the participants regain control of their behavior.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Ensures resident rights are protected and enforced at all times.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure continuity of treatment.
  • In collaboration with COO, develops and implements innovative services for unmet needs and/or processes and provides guidance in solving complex problems that may affect services.
  • Defuses critical situations and provide safety and reassurance to all participants, volunteers, and staff; notifies Chief Operating Officer, in a timely way, of any problems or concerns; creates incident reports as necessary.
  • Gathers and provides data for written reports requested by city, state, or federal funding sources.
  • Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP’s mission.


Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in the behavioral health field preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources and systems, financial/social resources, and experience in interviewing, assessment and implementation.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc. using relevant software.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with the capability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, participants, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in program development and implementation, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Ability to analyze data and utilize outcomes to drive program improvement and inform decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the mental health field.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and embrace innovation in mental health service delivery.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Strong skillsets in cultural competence, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends and/or work holidays/overtime as needed.
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger van (including at night) and physically support passengers during ingress/egress as needed and/or assist disabled individuals in an emergency evacuation.
  • Walk around multiple MHP locations and in the community in areas that may not be handicap accessible. May be required to have the ability to enter, exit and drive personal or agency vehicles and/or public transportation depending on the needs of the department.
  • Climb up to 3 flights stairs, multiple times per shift, to complete participant check-ins.
  • Remain awake during entire shift, including break times.
  • Must be able to travel within the community that may not be handicap accessible: walking and/or drive agency vehicles, depending on the needs of the program. Ability to use public transportation, move around inner-city neighborhoods daily, including in inclement weather, carry computer equipment, and ascend/descend stairs carrying computer equipment.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Frequent talking and listening. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly and accurately; possible exposure to loud and/or vulgar language and hostile gestures.
  • May be required to work on holidays or during emergency closings.
