General Purpose:

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for partnering with management to provide hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues: talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, conflict management, organizational development, and training. This role plays an essential role in establishing and driving HR programs/talent initiatives forward, while always ensuring they align with a company's business objectives. All employees consistently support and promote the company mission, five key beliefs, philosophies, and provide Superior Customer Service in all aspects of the job.

Essential Functions:

  • Process background checks and drug screening for all staff personnel in accordance with company procedures and government regulations. Notify hiring managers of results in a timely manner.
  • Process staff employee new hires, employee separations, and status change data in accordance with department procedures. Data enter appropriate information into HRIS database.
  • Process staff employee separations.
  • Process Approval to Hire forms; maintain current openings in database.
  • Provide support in administering and reporting of pre-hire assessments.
  • Process unemployment insurance claims.
  • Process FMLA/LOA/ADA claims.
  • Coach/counsel field employees on associate inquiries and associate investigations.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assist in training colleagues on process, procedures, and information systems tools.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1-year of Human Resources experience.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, to proactively communicate and to resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Performance Expectations:

  • Perform essential function activities that support achieving the department and company performance goals.
  • Employee performance improvements week over week, month over month, quarter over quarter, and year over year have a direct impact on the field's ability to perform.
