Job Summary: The General Manager, International Business is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to increase the company's market share and profitability in international markets. This role involves overseeing international regional leadership, managing executive relationships with key clients, ensuring the company's sales goals are achieved on a global scale and profitability metrics are met. This key leader will be a member of the Skullcandy Executive Leadership Team and have a hand in developing and executing long term strategy for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive international sales strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
    • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential partners in international markets.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies and tactics as necessary.
    • Provide recommendations and advice to CEO and other senior management leaders on potential opportunities internationally.
    • Stays abreast of economic, political, legal, and cultural factors that affect the company's sales, marketing tactics, and business initiatives.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, manage, and motivate the international teams to achieve sales and profitability targets.
    • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews for the leadership team.
    • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the team to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners in international markets.
    • Negotiate and close high-value sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
    • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts with clients and partners promptly and effectively.
    • Develop and negotiate contractual agreements with customers/distributors.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the international budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports to executive leadership.
    • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Market Expansion and Development:
    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
    • Develop and execute market entry strategies for new regions and countries.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns tailored to international markets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure a cohesive approach to international business.
    • Provide feedback to product development teams regarding market needs and customer preferences.
    • Participate in global trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company and its products.
  • P&L Management:
    • Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) for international regions, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability, implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Develop pricing strategies and ensure competitive positioning in the market.
  • Logistics and Operations:
    • Coordinate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain management for international markets.
    • Oversee the shipping, distribution, and delivery of products to international customers.
    • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and documentation requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, International Business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in international sales, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies in diverse international markets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
