Hourly Rate Range: $75-$150 per hour

What You'll Do:

  • Help local and tribal governments as well as community partners with funding strategies, stakeholder engagement, and innovations on energy and environmental justice challenges through the EPA funded Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center program
  • Support a technical assistance contract, funded to help local partners exploring the historic Community Change Grants for climate resiliency
  • Engage communities seeking to expand their economic mobility and opportunity programming by identifying new local, regional, state, and national sources of support through a program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Relevant subject matter expertise including experience identifying, capturing, and managing grant funding from government agencies, foundations, and other donors
  • Experience in identifying creative approaches for resourcing and implementing new and emerging programs and priorities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as strong planning, analytical, and conceptual skills
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and in use of virtual collaboration and meeting platforms
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is desired but not required
  • Some travel may be required

  • Work is typically performed in a home office environment consistent with ICMA's current "virtual first" approach.
  • Work is on an irregular schedule, which is determined by the fluctuating demands of the work and is not predictable
  • Work is performed by the hour, with no absolute guarantee of a total number of hours of work or the continued availability of any work
  • The work schedule does not typically exceed 20 hours per week and is generally less than one thousand (1,000) hours per year
  • The employee is not eligible for any company-offered benefits

Individuals applying for intermittent positions are allowed to maintain other employment or to conduct other business activities outside of ICMA. Prior to extending the offer, ICMA's hiring manager will evaluate the selected individuals' outside business activities to ensure they do not create any personal or organizational conflict of interest or appearance thereof.

Upon hire, employees occupying intermittent positions may be considered for additional assignments that may emerge for internally and externally funded projects.

A high-speed Internet connection is required. Intermittent personnel will provide the Internet service and use his/her own personal computer, telephone, printer, and other technology at their own expense. The internet connection must be of sufficient bandwidth to allow the team member to efficiently perform their regular job functions.

The selected candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
