Job Description:

The Senior Director of Technical Operations at Augmentjobs will lead and oversee the technical operations division, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of technology services and support. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and leadership to drive technology initiatives and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical operations, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans for the technical operations department to align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in technical operations and service delivery.

  2. Operational Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical support and operations teams.

    • Ensure the reliable and efficient performance of technology systems, including infrastructure, applications, and platforms.

  3. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical professionals, including managers and engineers.

    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  4. Project Management:

    • Oversee large-scale technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

    • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

  5. Budget Management:

    • Develop and manage the budget for the technical operations department.

    • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure cost-effective use of resources.

  6. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

    • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.

    • Ensure that vendor services meet performance standards and contractual obligations.

  7. Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Identify and mitigate risks related to technical operations.

    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

  8. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Develop and implement metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of technical operations.

    • Provide regular reports to senior management on operational performance, project status, and key issues.

  9. Customer Focus:

    • Ensure that technical operations support and enhance the customer experience.

    • Address and resolve customer issues related to technology services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.

  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in technical operations or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, software development, and systems integration.

  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Experience in developing and managing budgets and financial resources.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Risk Management: Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to technology operations.

  • Vendor Management: Ability to manage and negotiate with external vendors and service providers.
