Job DescriptionJob Description

The Supplier Quality Associate manages and maintains ingredient and vendor information within Safefood 360 to ensure that our vendors meet Food Safety and Quality requirements as well as all regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for requesting, reviewing, and filing all vendor documentation for ingredient and food packaging.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, review, and enter all vendor documentation (into Safefood 360) including but not limited to: Vendor Risk Assessments, Specification, Nutritional, third-party audits, Food Safety Plans, Allergen forms, etc.
  • Manage and maintain vendor risk ratings as new industry and vendor data becomes available.
  • Oversee further development, implementation, review, and on-going management of the Ingredient/Food Contact Packaging Vendor Program including purging obsolete information and updating aging documentation.
  • Work closely with Purchasing to develop and maintain a vendor complaint log, follow up on vendor quality issues, and prepare statistics for Purchasing as needed.
  • Work with Purchasing to rate and evaluate vendors and report findings.
  • Work with Purchasing to disposition aged ingredients.
  • Adhere to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, Food Safety, and Standardized Work procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (supply chain or food science related) or equivalent experience. 1+ years’ experience within a Quality Assurance department.
  • Previous experience with an ERP and/or VRA program beneficial. Vicinity and SafeFood360 software preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and suppliers.
  • Above average organization and attention to details.
  • Multi-tasking nature to keep up with documentation from multiple vendors and requests each day.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
