We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Welding Quality Inspector to join our team. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Certified Welding Quality Inspector will fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description below and will be classified as an Exempt employee.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will exhibit strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, technical knowledge, and a collaborative spirit. Certification in AWS and/or CWI is a prerequisite.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required; a technical degree in Welding or Quality Assurance is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • A current CWI certification is mandatory.
  • Certifications in NDE and Auditing are advantageous.
  • Experience in inspecting piping, pressure vessels, and structural fabrications according to established codes is essential.
  • Familiarity with supplier surveillance and quality documentation review, including WPS/PQRs, NDE reports, and material certificates, is beneficial.
  • Additional experience in supervisory roles, Quality Auditing, Quality Management, or ISO 9001:2015 is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel significantly (30-40%) both domestically and internationally is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and passport are necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure the resolution of all nonconformities.
  • Timely submission of required project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to clients.
  • Review contract documents and relevant job specifications (Turnover Packages) to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans, inspecting pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications to applicable codes while ensuring project quality standards are met and documented.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal project teams on a daily basis.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding standards is essential.
  • Familiarity with ASME Sections V, VIII/IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1 codes is required.
  • Professional communication skills with suppliers and clients are necessary.
  • Capability to review project and customer technical specifications and integrate them into project quality plans and I&TPs.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel & Outlook) is required.
  • Proficient in using computer systems.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights while adhering to safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The position involves extended periods of sitting at a desk and necessitates a high level of concentration in a dynamic environment.
