DSG is seeking Hub Operations Specialist for our Sioux Falls, SD locations. As a Hub Operations Specialist, you will be a key contributor to areas of regional and Sioux Falls hub operations that impact service and responsiveness to our customers, suppliers, branches, and employee owners. You will collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) and Sioux Falls branches to coordinate and help manage all logistic activities within our region and supported branches, while working closely with our warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate transfers to all branches.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Hub Operations Specialist at DSG:

  • Coordinate and oversee the transfer and delivery of transfers between warehouse locations across our region
  • Field and respond to all incoming communication from branches regarding transfers
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all transfers
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with team to ensure appropriate stock levels
  • Plan and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products
  • Track and report on shipment status, addressing any delays or discrepancies
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Implement inventory management best practices to minimize losses and improve accuracy
  • Monitor and manage inventory performance; work with branch and regional leadership to ensure inventory is controlled and meeting goals
  • Promote and maintain branch operational excellence through Eclipse (ERP) system review, and support
  • Identify and recommend process improvement initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned

A Successful Hub Operations Specialist Typically Has:

  • Work experience in distribution, the industry and/or a related field.
  • Strong background in warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management, with a focus on optimizing processes and improving operational efficiency.
  • High school diploma, college degree in related field preferred.
  • The ability to plan, analyze, prioritize, and organize work effectively and to work effectively under pressure and time deadlines.
  • Strong general computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills necessary to lead others and deal effectively with a diverse group of external customers and vendors, as well as internal contacts at all levels of the company.
