Job DescriptionJob Description

Worcester RISE for Health is looking for an independently licensed mental health provider to provide behavioral health clinical services to newly arriving refugees and immigrants.


Service to include one-on-one therapy, group therapy, therapeutic group programs, and other non-traditional modalities catering to the needs of new arrivals in a trauma-informed way. Create a safe and nurturing environment, empowering clients to navigate life's challenges with resilience and strength by integrating clinical expertise with genuine empathy.


Experience working with the population and understanding of the unique trauma and mental health/social needs of new arrivals is desired. Trauma-informed care training and experience in crisis management are greatly preferred. The ideal applicant will have over 3 years of clinical experience treating mental health patients and be independently licensed. Experience working with interpreters and the ability to speak another language is highly desired.

Compensation:

$70,000+ yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' unique needs and challenges. Formulate accurate clinical diagnoses based on assessments and observations.
  • Individualized Wellness Planning: Develop individualized wellness plans tailored to clients' goals and strengths. Collaborate with clients to set realistic and achievable objectives for therapy.
  • Evidence-Based Therapy: Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support clients' mental health goals via individual and group (traditional and nontraditional) therapy. Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, adapting approaches to meet clients' diverse needs.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health crises. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care. Maintain clear and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in behavioral health research and treatment methodologies. Engage in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Securely maintain thorough case documentation. Provide data and reporting to the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working across multiple languages and cultures, particularly with refugees or immigrant populations with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. (LICSW, PsyD, LMHC, LMFT).
  • State licensure or certification as a Behavioral Health Clinician (prefer independently licensed but will work with those with a limited license if otherwise a good match).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing therapy and counseling services to diverse populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with clients with varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • PREFERRED: Proficiency in a language spoken by New American clients (French, Haitian Creole, Somali, Arabic, Swahili, Lingala, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Dinka, Dari, or Pashto, Ukrainian, Spanish).
