Job Summary:

As the Head of Delivery Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery to the customers’ homes. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Lead and motivate a team of members to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to foster professional growth and development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the company.



Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Allocate resources effectively to meet customer demands.
  • Plan and organize daily work routines related to operations.
  • Ensure to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with vendors and customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Safeguard the company's interests by following all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Create, implement, and document a comprehensive truck check-in process to ensure the safety and efficiency of transportation operations.
  • After each trip, if possible, conduct a thorough post-trip inspection and complete a detailed material checklist to maintain service quality and promptly identify any issues.
  • Hold crew members accountable for any missing items to ensure responsible handling of company resources.
  • Adhere to all brand policies and procedures to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
  • Actively promote the company culture to build a positive, unified work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize delivery operations and achieve business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance customer delivery experience.
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery operations, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching of delivery vehicles and personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of delivery operations.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize efficiency, minimize errors, and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery, and manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Champion a customer-centric mindset and drive initiatives to enhance the delivery experience and exceed customer expectations.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to identify service improvement and innovation opportunities.
  • Run training sessions for new hires, packing, specialty items, and other areas needing improvement.
  • Implement safe delivery practices, including utilizing proper lifting techniques, following delivery-specific methods, ensuring positive customer interaction, meeting vendor requirements, and continuously seeking areas of improvement.
  • Provide feedback on crew members to identify those ready for more responsibility, such as driving or leading the crew.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 


Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or higher.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in business management, logistics, or related field preferred but not required.

 

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds or more at times.
