Job Summary

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical and administrative tasks related to the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical or administrative tasks to support the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Determine the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier to transport shipments, considering factors such as the nature of the items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
  • Consult rate schedules for specific rates depending on the method of shipment and/or distance shipped.
  • Assess and calculate storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges.
  • Reroute urgent shipments or arrange for special delivery at the destination.
  • Prepare and maintain records of products shipped and track shipments.
  • Receive incoming materials, unpack, and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
  • Maintain records of received goods, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
  • Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Lift heavy items and operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Experience packing.
  • Some MRP Experience.
