The Manufacturing Operations Leader plays a pivotal role in overseeing the safety, cost efficiency, quality, delivery, and productivity of the assigned manufacturing teams. This position collaborates closely with various functional departments to enhance material flow, equipment utilization, and workforce management to achieve or surpass daily operational goals. The individual in this role is expected to foster a culture of continuous improvement, eliminating waste and reducing costs across product lines while optimizing material flows within the manufacturing framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily leadership and guidance to Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, and team members. Assume indirect leadership of Integrated Production Team resources, including Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Planners. Ensure effective communication of shift activities by Production Supervisors to the production workforce. Assist in formulating the production build plan and oversee its daily execution. Keep the team informed by clearly articulating goals and objectives to subordinates, aiding them in developing efficient daily production strategies. Ensure timely completion of all deliveries. Monitor daily throughput and address any discrepancies with the production plan. Define and hold teams accountable for key performance indicators related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Review Daily Management Boards, lead daily production standups, and conduct regular meetings. Ensure compliance with product specifications and operational instructions. Lead initiatives aimed at yield improvement, enhancing production methods, equipment performance, and product quality through Lean Manufacturing Principles. Identify and justify capital equipment needs and process capital equipment requests as necessary. Drive advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping and cost reduction opportunities. Conduct regular evaluations of staffing requirements, addressing any excesses or shortfalls as needed. Perform periodic assessments of work areas for safety and cleanliness, identifying issues and leading improvements in Safety, 5S, ESD, and FOD protocols. Develop and support cross-training initiatives to meet both short and long-term operational needs. Continuously review and enforce adherence to work instructions, routers, logs, scrap tickets, training matrices, calibration requirements, and company policies. Monitor all work-in-progress inventory, ensuring sufficient supply to meet production plans, and participate in regular material planning discussions. Be prepared to lead teams during weekends when necessary. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports as required, and create and present monthly product and program updates.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Operations, Project Management, or Program Management. Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification. Strong client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Proven track record of delivering comprehensive stakeholder requirements, documenting mapping and data transformation rules, and establishing data validation and error handling protocols. Ability to draft epics and user stories on behalf of the business product owner. Strong skills in business process flow documentation and diagramming.
