Accounting Associate - Temp to Hire

Packsize is looking for an experienced and self-motivated temporary (one year) accounting associate who will be a member of a cohesive team environment for Accounts Receivable. You will partner with our Accounting team to build and strengthen our customers' relationship with Packsize. Our various teams at Packsize will collaborate with this role to establish and maintain credit risk, update customer contact information, and coordinate with all necessary parties on customer disputes. Your ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with others will be vital to your success in this role. You will be an essential part to ensure that Packsize can continue to operate in an innovative, problem solving, solution focused team environment. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Communicate with customers about the status of their account; including providing supporting documentation for invoices and inquiries

  • Communicate with customers regarding holds, disputes, and unapplied payments on their account

  • Set up and maintain credit for clients

  • Collaborate with the sales team to manage customer accounts and work through account reconciliations

  • Perform month-end close tasks associated with AR as needed. This may include resolving customer payment application and confirming that approved account write-offs have been completed

  • Provide assistance with external audit support

  • Perform other accounting related duties as assigned or required

  • Perform ad-hoc projects, as required

Qualifications (including Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Communicating with others to exchange information verbally and in writing

  • Can work independently and maintain confidentiality

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time

  • Willing to take initiative, think creatively, and solve complex problems

  • Other systems commonly used: SAP, Infor, SalesForce, Lockstep Collect, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, DOMO, Slack, Zoom (experience preferred but not required)

Experience and Education:

  • 1-3+ years experience in AR - or -

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or associated field and 1+ years of experience

  • Ability to operate accounting software programs

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in an office environment; sitting for extended periods and move about an office

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

  • Repetitive movements

  • May work remotely periodically
