Job Summary: Responsible for conducting site assessments and gathering detailed information to assist in the bidding process for telecommunications construction projects. This role ensures that all necessary site details are captured, including measurements, site conditions, potential obstacles, and other relevant factors. The Job Walker will work closely with project managers and estimators to provide accurate information for project planning and cost estimation.

           

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Conduct on-site pre-bid walk-throughs of potential job sites to assess conditions and collect relevant data.
  • Capture detailed photographs and documentation of site conditions, including measurements and identifying key project challenges.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure a clear understanding of the scope and requirements.
  • Identify and document any potential issues or obstacles that may affect project timelines, costs, or safety.
  • Provide detailed site reports and recommendations to project managers and estimating teams to support accurate bid preparation.
  • Liaise with property owners, utilities, and local authorities to understand site access, restrictions, and special requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to relay findings and ensure all site conditions are understood prior to submitting bids.
  • Assist in the development of preliminary construction strategies based on site assessments

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Experience with construction estimating or bidding processes.
  • Knowledge of local permitting and utility regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to transport items up to 15 pounds.
