Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Quality Systems Manager (QSM) reports to the Director of Quality. This position is accountable for establishing, maintaining, and improving quality system programs, policies, procedures, and best practices, related to document control, electronic systems, and change control, across the division. This is a hands-on role, requiring the ability to effectively write and maintain company policies, procedures, and work instructions. The role is expected to support the vision of the company and actively manage key corporate quality programs resulting in a high level of achievement in Safety, Sanitation, Quality, and Efficiency.

The QSM, with the support of the Director of Quality, develops the programs, policies, and procedures to ensure quality conformances and food safety practices for the Organization. This position is the stakeholder for all things related to change control within the organization, ensuring the necessary programs and procedures are in place and adhered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes, maintains, and improves quality system programs, policies, procedures, compliance, and best practices across division manufacturing sites.
  • Facilitates the harmonization of quality system tools and ensures they are aligned across functions and the enterprise in its entirety.
  • Participates in the recurring review/updating of all programmatic policies, procedures, and training materials to incorporate best practices and validate ongoing compliance.
  • Develops and drafts or supports the development of new policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Technical Services Team to facilitate cross-functional teamwork, ensuring successful product launches, by creating the necessary production documentation and executing item setup activities.
  • Oversees the creation of raw material and finished good internal specifications, along with Control Formulation Documents.
  • Owns the company sanitation programs, ensuring procedures are up-to-date, accurate, and easy-to-follow, for end users.
  • Responsible for the Change Management Program as discrepancies or changes are required, including documentation updates, production batch folder updates, new items setups, and manufacturing change controls associated with new equipment and/or engineering changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a B.S. in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of Quality Leadership experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with direct exposure to food or dietary supplement processing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sanitation principles and the creation of or execution of a sanitation program.
  • Demonstrated understanding and execution of document control and change control systems.
  • Demonstrated team-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Computer skills
  • PCQI, HACCP Certifications preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Multi-site management experience preferred.
