POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Techician I who specializes in DAS. As a DAS Field Technician you will be managing the troubleshooting, and maintenance of DAS around the country. Additionally, you will be expected to read design documents, have familiarity with equipment like Fiber Repeaters, BDAs, splitters, couplers antennas etc.; to perform cable sweeps, test fiber and collect relevant data.


As a DAS Field Technician you will be tasked with…

  • Conducting site walks, performing site surveys, CW testing, cable sweeps, plotting, drawing up, and designing site maps, and installation of connectors, cabling, antennas, head- end, and remote electronics.
  • Must have the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications equipment, including Cellular and DAS systems.
  • Performing site surveys to assess network requirements and identify potential issues.
  • Pulling, terminating, and testing cabling infrastructure according to industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting network issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure project success.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and client-specific guidelines.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:  

  • Experience in Troubleshooting and Testing of an installed base of BDA and Fiber based DAS.
  • Proficiencies in reading and understanding design plans to ensure smooth deployment of systems.
  • Proficient in installing and troubleshoot BDAs, antennas, couplers, splitters, coaxial cable.
  • Collect and deliver survey information including but not limited to equipment location, risers, pathways, obstacles that might block RF, donor location, roof penetrations, areas requiring conduit, important coverage areas.
  • Experience in installation of cabling in a construction environment.
  • Have a valid driver’s license with access to transportation and required insurance.
  • Must have a working knowledge and experience utilizing Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, hand tools, power tools, drills, Sawzalls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of DAS projects.
  • Coordinate resources, provide accurate project requirements, and address customer concerns or issues as they arise.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ year of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience.
  • Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to technologies in public safety and wireless communications and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently as well as part of a team, and proceed with objectives with some supervision.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.
  • Proven track record of reliability, integrity, and responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey the value of our products or services to potential clients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%) as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.

DESIRED:

  • Understanding of Public Safety Radio systems is preferred. Understanding of Public Safety
  • Communications Systems, including familiarity with technologies such as land mobile radio (LMR),
  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), wireless broadband (5g), and interoperability solutions.
