POSITION SUMMARY:

The AYCC is the home of the largest licensed childcare facility in Maine. We are looking for a Waterville Site Coordinator to help oversee our staff and lead our youth in enriching activities. We support our program participants' growth by offering them activities in the fields of art, science, technology, gardening, fitness, and any homework help they may need. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct and operate ASP site programs and services in accordance with the standards, philosophies, and policies of the State of Maine childcare licensing guidelines and AYCC guidelines, and within budget limitations.
  • Support and assist in running the Summer Enrichment Program.
  • Accomplish department and organizational objectives by managing staff and their performance, planning, scheduling and evaluating staff, recruiting, selecting, orienting and training staff, coaching employees to foster growth opportunities and completing required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Process payroll hours and documentation of all hourly employees and oversee the integrity of timecards.
  • Implement and organize all after-school programming special events.
  • Oversee and operate various program areas as needed (i.e. computer lab, cafeteria, gymnasium, outdoor spaces)
  • Implement, promote, and publicize the programs and activities.
  • Maintain social and recreational facilities and equipment, recommending needed repairs and improvements.
  • Keep accurate and adequate records of attendance, participation, and progress of the After School Program and its participants.
Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or a related field.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to become certified.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in childcare, group social work, recreational field, social education field, outdoor, or camp programs.
  • Management experience
