Location: Goose Creek, SC

Job Description:

The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work is usually segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. The Supply Technician expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within government tracking systems, help meet production, shipping schedules, and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue. Establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; applying knowledge of repair and maintenance processes; compile report of quantity and type of material on hand using computerized system.

Required Qualifications:

  • Perform day-to-day routine tasks, in accordance with established guidelines, and receive specific guidance from the supervisor.
  • Perform customer service for all GCSS-A related activities in accordance with the GCSS-A End User Manual (EUM).
  • Perform and edits according to internal quality control checks during the input of data from source documents.
  • Create, monitor, review stock records and other documentation for accuracy comprised of inventory, materiel control, accounting, and supply reports from GCSS-Army for Class II, III, IV VII and IX items.
  • Prepare and manage requests, inventories, surveys, and other warehousing documents that were retrieved out of GCSS-Army.
  • Perform a wide variety of supply clerical duties within an automated supply system.
  • Generate GCSS-A reports as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining notifications; work orders; records of services performed; ordering and managing repair parts; dispatching vehicles and equipment; issuing material to work order; returning and recoverable/reparable material to stock; entering time confirmations for work orders; performing the work order completion; and updating the operations status for a piece of equipment.
  • Follow up on all weekly transaction reports, weekly form counts and prepares forms to be digitally sent.
  • Must perform edits based on FEDLOG codes and classes of supply as required.
  • Readiness activities include documentation, records management, reporting and record reconciliation.
  • Required to gain access to GCSS-A, IGC, FedMall, AESIP, and WEBVLIPs for parts and document research.
  • Provide logistical support to other operational and support elements as required.
  • Provide analysis, technical assistance, by researching repair part availability and expedition as required.
  • Conduct and participate in scheduled, unscheduled inventories and surveys.
  • Review and validate document register reconciliations and submits daily supply activities.
  • Personnel shall possess a functional knowledge of the Army Supply system.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of material within or between departments and/or sections in accordance with mission requirements, shipping schedules or supervisors' priorities.
  • Create production schedules and confers with supervisors to determine and locate required or overdue material.
  • Requisition material and establishes delivery sequences to departments and/or sections.
  • Anticipate availability of material; schedules internal and external transfers of material to meet requirements schedules.
  • Apply knowledge of material, processes, and information systems to compile reports and solve discrepancies.
  • Coordinates the transportation of material from one department and/or section to another, using material-handling equipment.
  • Compile and review records to locate material using manual or computerized systems.
  • Oversees and conducts all inventories.
  • Manage receipt, control, and processing of all GCSS-A work orders.
