Job Summary

This role is responsible for enrolling and completing the Paragon training program, a 15-week virtual learning experience that teaches the fundamentals of bathing and grooming, as well as safety, pet first aid, and CPR. As a Grooming Technician in Training, you will learn and perform a combination of duties, including bathing, drying, brushing, and combing various coat types, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic clipper techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll and complete the Paragon training program within the required timeline
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of pet behavior, body language, and handling techniques
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for pet owners
  • Assist in generating business through phone calls, scheduling appointments, and follow-up communications
  • Maintain accurate records of pet clients, including services provided and vaccination records
  • Operate computer systems and equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion
  • Must provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate store equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste is possible. Ability to stand for long periods, move around the salon, and lift up to 50 pounds is required.
