MVP Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Development Coordinator & Infection Preventionist (SDC/IP) to join a reputable Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center located in a beautiful seaside community. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high standards of staff development and infection prevention within the facility, contributing to exceptional resident and patient care.

Position Summary:

The Staff Development Coordinator & Infection Preventionist (SDC/IP) is responsible for overseeing staff education, training, and compliance with infection prevention protocols. This role requires a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a strong background in staff development and infection control. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and passionate about maintaining high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Development:
    • Conduct facility new hire orientation processes.
    • Teach and facilitate the Nurse Aide Training Program.
    • Provide dementia training and ensure adherence to related policies and procedures.
    • Maintain staff licensure, certification, physicals, and immunizations for compliance.
    • Collect and manage necessary mandatory education related to fire safety.
    • Participate in the facility Quality Assurance process.
  • Infection Prevention:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular infection control rounds and audits to ensure compliance with protocols.
    • Provide ongoing education and training to staff on infection prevention and control practices.
    • Track and report infection rates and implement strategies to reduce infections.
    • Stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements related to infection prevention.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN or LPN license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Experience in staff development and infection prevention preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records and related software.
