Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Language Access Supervisor to join our team at the State of Oregon. This role will be responsible for coordinating language translation and interpretation services, ensuring meaningful access to the legislature for Oregonians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement language access plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Supervise language access staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality services.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring timely and effective language services.
  • Conduct needs assessments, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Develop educational materials and present to legislative branch partners and the public on language access best practices.
  • Collaborate with LPRO colleagues and other nonpartisan staff to improve technical and process efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in language access services, community relations, or program coordination.
  • Knowledge of current best practices for translation and interpretation services, public policy, and legislative process.
  • Experience working with culturally specific, multilingual, and/or limited English proficient communities.
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
