At Feeders Pet Supply, you're more than just an employee, you and your pets are family. The Accounts Payable Associate is a key position at our home office, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Job Responsibilities
- The Accounts Payable Associate will review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Enter invoices for payment in a timely manner, ensuring all expenses are accounted for in the correct month
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
- Prepare the monthly travel and expense accrual
- Record ACH and wire payments in accounting system
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Assist with other projects within the accounting department as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- 1+ Years of Accounts Payable experience
- Associate Degree with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance is a plus
- Must have strong work ethics, be well organized and a self-starter
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable / general ledger systems and procedures
- Financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures (a plus)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
