Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Distribution Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Leads/Supervisors and manage the daily executions of warehouse operations. This includes driving good practices, supporting company objectives, and enforcing overall customer satisfaction.

As a Distribution Manager with Travers, you will be responsible for:

General and Procedures

  • Warehouse operations: oversee operations and associates, have responsibility over day to day functions, including safety practices and conditions. Troubleshoot, improve and or correct problem areas. Procedural implementation. Increase production output.
  • Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
  • Staffing: evaluate/coach associates to ensure they are utilized to their full potential. Report failing operations and help with performance improvement plans. Make sure to always be staffed accordingly.
  • Building and Facility Maintenance: see that all necessary repairs are up to date and or building is maintained in presentable and safe working order.
  • Key holder: open or close building as needed.

Quality

  • Shipping Error Rates: maintain low shipping error rate, troubleshoot problem areas and adjust to reduce shipping error accordingly.
  • Lead up Cross-Functional Team to ensure quality mindset and policies and procedures with SLA’s run across all departments, driving up customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure returns SLA processed and closed within 5 business days inclusive of triage and investigation or waiting on supplier RMA.
  • Establish repackaging stations to ensure that Travers Tool brand integrity is maintained.

Inventory Control

  • Warehouse Inventory Management/control: assure the safe storage, including HazMat, and handling of company assets. Maintain inventory accuracy levels.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock takes and audit of same to verify results.
  • Manage investigations of inventory shortages and close out investigations within 48 hours.

Productivity

  • Develop staffing models based on volume of work and make adjustments according to sales plans and actuals and project based work.
  • Set performance and productivity expectations for the staff and each area respectively and hold workforce accountable for productivity

METRICS:

  • Shipping Errors: ensure inventory is shipped correctly and that customers receive products on time- 99.7%
  • Receiving, Inventory management: ensure that the company’s inventory is managed according to policies and procedures, put away and ready to ship
  • Efficiency: ensure speed and accuracy of task completion of all associates
  • Productivity: increase output and task completion by end of day.
  • Safety/House Keeping: maintain OSHA standards
  • Returns: processed within 24hrs from issued RMA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in logistics, supply chain, or comparable experience
  • 3 years of previous warehouse leadership experience
  • Strong understanding and use of KPI’s and metrics in managing and monitoring results.
  • Understanding of distribution and inventory control best practices
  • Great communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Experience with equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Strong ERP, WMS, TMS and Microsoft office tools including excel, SQL query and other data analysis tools.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for the work; ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong team player with leadership skills.
