Asphalt Paving Supervisor

Job Summary

Reeves Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Asphalt Paving Foreman to join their team in Duncan, SC. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety excellence and be able to lead a team to achieve exceptional results.

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise all phases of a paving operation, including equipment maintenance, employee supervision, and product distribution.
• Implement environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and government requirements.
• Maintain and repair equipment, ensuring it is serviced, lubricated, and in good working order.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities and work assignments for the team.
• Manage deliveries, productions, record-keeping, and report creation using email and fax with Word and Excel.
• Understand the dangers involved in an interstate operation and take necessary precautions.
• Recognize potential problems before breakdowns occur and take corrective action.
• Work safely and follow company policies and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• 5+ years of experience in Asphalt Paving is necessary.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include:

• Climbing onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
• Sitting in a machine and operating it for several hours without stopping.
• Withstanding vibration from job site conditions and noise from other equipment.
• Using arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.

Work Environment

The work environment for this job includes:

• Moving mechanical parts.
• Outside weather conditions.
• Vibration.
• Fumes or airborne particles.
• Wet and/or humid conditions.
