Because everyone is at a different point in their career journey, we offer multiple entry points into becoming an Agency Owner with Farmers Insurance:


Retail Program: Similar to starting a franchise, you start with a branded office location and staff. Retail agents receive extensive training support throughout the process and the best bonus opportunities available to Farmer's Agent Owners. You’ll be eligible to earn bonuses on top of commission for up to 3 years. Proof of financial assets is required.


Acquisition Program: Purchase an established Farmers Insurance Agency with a client/income base in place. You’ll benefit from extensive training and support as well as generous bonus opportunities.


Protégé Program: This program is designed for young entrepreneurs wanting to establish a business early in their career. This program provides access to a 12-month development program that will provide an opportunity to become an agent with Farmers. You will work for a mentor agency owner and have access to resources that can help you establish the skills and experience that will ensure your future success while learning the business. This program does not require financial assets. Income opportunity is lower with the Protege Program.

Compensation:

$100,000+ annually

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure bookkeeping systems, sales databases, and customer records are maintained to report progress toward monthly initiatives to stakeholders
  • Create tailored risk management strategies directly with clients that align with their risk profiles
  • Spend time listening to new and potential clients, assess their priorities and finances, and determine suitable insurance plan options that successfully meet their individual insurance needs
  • Devote an unprecedented level of personal attention when implementing a range of effective sales strategies proven to maintain and grow long-term customer base
  • Stay abreast of insurance industry protocols and policy changes to ensure fulfillment of all policy requirements, and monitor insurance claims to ensure mutual satisfaction
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have an insurance license
  • Superb analytical, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills are needed to succeed in this role
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required
  • Proven understanding of the insurance industry including insurance products, risk management and any state and federal regulations
  • Some experience with accounting or sales lead software is beneficial
