Job Description: We are seeking a skilled worker to join our client's team in the Northeastern US. This role is crucial in installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications cable infrastructure within central office facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cable installation and troubleshooting, with the ability to work independently during night shifts. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the backbone of modern communications networks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute cable runs based on engineering diagrams and site specifications
  • Install various cable types including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial
  • Perform cable splicing, termination, and testing to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cable faults and performance issues
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all installations and modifications
  • Ensure a clean and organized cable environment within central office facilities
  • Travel within the Northeast region as required for project work

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Proven experience in a central office environment
  • Proficiency in wire wrapping and handling older equipment frames
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work night shifts, including Sunday and Monday nights
  • Capability to manage cable runs up to 75 feet, using cable racks
  • Familiarity with live equipment and wiring harnesses

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Certification in fiber optic or copper cable installation
  • Experience with network equipment installation and configuration
  • Knowledge of telecom industry standards and best practices

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification in telecommunications or related field preferred
