Our work in a mix of K-12, community college, civic/government, higher education, market-rate housing, urban mixed-use, hospitality, industrial, planning and programming. We are looking for highly talented, motivated, and creative individuals to be contributing members of our K-12, community college, and civic/government studios. Be part of an innovative and fun-loving design team working on a variety of current architectural and interior project types of all scales.

We are looking for a self-motivated licensed architect with 8 or more years of experience or equivalent in all technical phases of architecture for our Sacramento office. Bachelor and/or master’s degree in architecture or equivalent. Additional industry certifications desired (LEED, DBIA, CDT, etc.).

A Project Architect understands state and local city building and zoning codes. Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support throughout the entire project. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Coordinates with project team on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Works closely with the Principal/Project Director/Manager to procure projects and execute project plans. Coordinates with Principal/Project Director/Manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery and mentors junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Able to use BIM and other software used in the production of construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of Revit required.
  • Familiarity with DSA (ability to process CCDs, knowledge of DSA forms, ability to close projects with DSA).
  • GC payment request reviews.
  • Knowledge of codes and experience in clearing plan checks.
  • OSFM process knowledge is highly desired.
  • Must be able to work well with and communicate effectively with other team members including Project Managers, contractors, project team members, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to detail and resolve construction-related issues.
  • Experience in carrying projects through the construction phase, specifically on projects larger than $20m highly desired.
  • DBIA member preferred.
