Position Summary: Sprezzatura is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide essential support to the Program Manager in overseeing large-scale, complex projects within the Program Project Management Support Services (PPMSS). This role is crucial for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of project objectives, aligning with the Department of Veterans Affairs' strategic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Program Manager in managing and overseeing project execution to ensure successful delivery within scope, budget, and time.
  2. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior stakeholders and team members.
  3. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  4. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  5. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, drafting and submitting budget proposals, and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  6. Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  7. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  8. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  9. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior project management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience working with Government Clients, preferred experience with Veteran’s Affairs.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead large teams effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver successful outcomes.


Location: This is a hybrid position. Majority of time will be remote with the ability to provide onsite support in Washington, DC, as requested by the customer.
