We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant Manager for our Manufacturing plant located in Marion, Arkansas. This position is responsible for supporting employees and managers, implementing HR policies and procedures, leading the employee relations team, and making recommendations that promote a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The HR Assistant Manager develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Responsible for leading, guiding and training the employee relations team whose role is to:
    • Maintain Positive Employee Relations in the plant (Fostering an environment of care and concern, ensuring policy consistency, driving engagement and creating a safe and respectful work culture/environment)
    • Proactively gauge morale, identify trends, forecast potential issues and present strategic solutions to problems
    • Educate all team members on policies (new hire orientation and annual refresher trainings)
    • Conduct employee relations counseling
    • Manage attendance in accordance with company policy
    • Manage performance and behavior, conduct investigations as needed and prepare case summary findings and recommendations for various levels of corrective action
    • Respond to EEOC and Unemployment claims as needed
  • Participates in management meetings
  • Ensures the team has established foundational processes and standardized work documents to ensure consistency and data accuracy across all shifts
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of departments in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resource Management, or a comparable discipline and at least 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PHR Certification preferred

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, diversity, performance management, training and development, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Experience in Automotive Manufacturing a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of diversity and unique challenges of multicultural workplace
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Work in environment with international objectives
  • Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively with clients.
