Summary:

Responsible for scheduling the production process based on the availability of material, equipment and employee resources through the assigned manufacturing areas consistent with the master production schedule. Efficiently assign production to minimize company costs and meet delivery deadlines. Monitor production process and implement process improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Develop, prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Schedule, document and control release of orders to the manufacturing departments.
  • Analyse production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Continuously review status of open orders against schedule requirements and take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Participate in problem solving activities that will assure “On Time” completion.
  • Communicate major problems to the immediate supervisor.
  • Monitor and report on selective key accounts.
  • Continuously review unreleased backlog and take appropriate action as necessary to assure on time release of jobs to production.
  • Communicate effectively with Manufacturing and Production Control as to the status of WIP and priorities.
  • Ensure planning supports on-time delivery to customers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay and or alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Coordinate materials on order to ensure on-time schedules.
  • Contact and communicate (via email and phone) with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates.
  • Update systems with latest date information accurately and expeditiously.
  • Perform first level expedite escalation and gather information required to elevate requests to management.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Management or Engineering or 5-7 years of experience in a production control environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Must have experience collecting and researching data.
  • Due to export control rules, must be a US citizen.
