The Goddard School located in Suwanee is looking for a motivated, self-starter for a Director of Education position. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as an assistant director or director at an ECE school, strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate learning programs for young children. Previous experience with Quality Rated, Cognia, or NAEYC accreditation processes is a plus.

The Director of Educations responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the school, specifically focusing on quality assurance standards, educational programming, school enrollment, relationship building with families, and faculty training & development.
  • Developing strong relationships with our families and faculty
  • Planning and participating in school events
  • Complying with state childcare licensing regulations and Goddard rules and regulations
  • Projecting a positive, flexible, and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, multitasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education
  • Planning summer camp calendars
  • Running the school social media platforms
  • Integrating diversity and inclusion into school events and curriculum instruction

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associates of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field. Bachelors degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of classroom experience in an ECE setting
  • Minimum of one year of school administration/assistant director/director experience
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children, staff and parents, including when having difficult or uncomfortable conversations
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, including closing the school a minimum of 2-3 days a week
  • Organized and able to multitask, strategically resolves challenges, and has a great attitude
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
  • Able to drive passenger bus, if needed.
  • Strong understanding, or willingness to learn about different cultures, diverse families and abilities. Candidate should be able to incorporate this knowledge into school events and curriculum guidance.
  • Experience in utilizing social media platforms.
