Austin, United States Moontower Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Moontower is looking for a Project Manager to join our team in our Austin office. This person will lead the successful execution of a variety of residential, custom, architect-designed projects from start to finish.

The ideal Project Manager candidate is a self-starter with excellent time-management, impeccable written and verbal communication skills, and tenacious problem-solving abilities who thrives in high stakes, fast-paced environments. Candidates will be leaders with a personality that is even keeled, patient, and wise. Project Managers at Moontower guide detail oriented superintendents and designers, along with emotionally invested clients through the ups and downs of custom home construction to a smooth finish.

Ideal candidates should have experience managing the "paper" side of projects, and will have thorough understanding of project planning, reading architectural drawings, specifications, engineering drawings, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Moontower is not looking for someone to drive around to projects and drink coffee.

Candidates previous experience must show growth of project complexity, quality, and value of projects under management over time. Ability to manage $4-6M/yr is necessary. Special consideration will be given to candidates with work history that shows a pattern of architectural or historically significant homes, infill construction, or commercial projects with residential scale, or intimate, bespoke design details.

  • Manage resources - Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to identify and allocate the necessary resources for each project. Evaluate subcontractors with the estimator to ensure the right fit for each job.
  • Develop project plans - Create detailed plans for each project to outline execution strategy including deliverables, schedule, and cost. Develop work breakdown structures, build and maintain schedules, financial forecasts, constantly assess risks, constraints, and assumptions and discuss pitfalls and opportunities to compress the critical path with the project team.
  • Track and communicate progress - Measure progress and team performance for presentation to internal leadership, and to summarize and report to clients regularly in order to fine tune their expectations to match progress in the field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, architecture, construction management, project management
