San Jose, United States Antora Energy Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

At Antora, we're on a mission to stop climate change. And we can't do that unless we tackle the 30% of global emissions that come from industry.

Antora is unlocking zero-emissions industrial energy, cheaper than fossil fuels. Antora's thermal batteries store energy from renewables as heat for days on end, delivering that stored energy as heat and power at the scale and temperatures that large industrial operations demand. We're on a path to eliminate gigatons of emissions while strengthening domestic manufacturing, curbing industrial air pollution, and enhancing America's clean energy leadership.

We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and build with humility and openness. We are committed to continue building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future where every industrial facility, everywhere on earth, is powered by abundant, low-cost, zero-emissions energy.

Position Summary

As a Senior or Staff Construction Project Manager, you will lead internal and external teams to construct and start-up Antora Energy's thermal energy storage commercial projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will be a key technical member of a cross-functional and rapidly growing organization as we deploy some of Antora's first commercial scale projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external (EPC, contractors, and subcontractors) cross-functional teams to construct and start-up multiple Antora projects on time, within budget (>$100M), and to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Lead change management with contractors when out of scope items arise.
  • Assist Antora in negotiating terms of agreements and contracts with EPC, contractors, and subcontractors. Provide expertise in down selecting construction scope.
  • Ensure clear team & project communication, including risk management, contingency planning, and RFI documentation.
  • Own & maintain the construction schedule, budget, and resource plan.
  • Provide constructability review of engineering drawings and sequencing input for construction project and equipment delivery schedules.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, ensure safety compliance, and address any issues that arise.
  • Regularly present project status to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track Lessons Learned throughout the project to feed into future projects.
  • Located in the Bay Area, CA or in the Midwest USA. Travel, up to 75%, to North America project locations (starting with the Midwest USA) and to Antora HQ in the Bay Area to drive projects to completion.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent in Construction Management and/or 8+ years' experience in industrial project construction management (oil & gas, chemicals, power plants, etc.).
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale industrial/plant construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Have worked for, or with, EPC teams, contractors, and sub-contractors in both office and project-site locations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Scheduling software (MS Project, P6, Smartsheet, etc) and construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc) experience.
  • Experience working independently, as well as working in a team-orientated and fast-paced startup-like environment.

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • PMP Certification.
  • PE, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE policies of internal and external parties.
