Summary/Objective

Shaw Systems Associates is seeking a QA Automation Tester to support our development team with the testing and quality assurance of our latest suite of lending systems solutions.

The Quality Assurance Automation Tester is responsible for ensuring that all software is developed and delivered with the highest standards of quality and best practices. This individual will possess a strong business analytical background and great automation testing skills.  Experience with Selenium and Fitnesse a must.


Responsibilities

  • Takes initiative and leads test automation efforts, performs as a mentor and helps grow a positive, productive work team.
  • Participates in defining automation strategy and applying appropriate automation technologies to meet the short- and long-term goals of QA department.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, solutions and automated test scripts.
  • Reviews requirement specifications and technical design documents to create test scripts and test plans.
  • Participate in design and code inspections.
  • Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionalities of services as a prequel to automation.
  • Analyze test logs; create test reports, coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development and cross functional teams to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
  • Add business value to Agile teams through proactive participation in all phases of Agile development
  • Works closely with the Product Manager and other team members to establish and contribute to detailed project schedules, test planning, retrospectives and demos’ for the team.
  • Continuously increases product knowledge and vertical experience. Achieves relevant technical and/or functional certification reflective of current skill set.


Requirements

  • 3+ years of QA Automation experience leveraging Selenium, Jenkins, MySQL and FitNesse.
  • 5+ Years of QA Experience, testing backend systems for complex enterprise level applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment practicing SCRUM.
  • Able to communicate complex concepts to business owners and technical team members    
  • Knowledgeable in Web technologies such as JavaScript, JSP, and .NET and database platforms: SQL Server 2005/2008, MySQL, Reporting Services (SSRS), and Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience in an automated and manual testing environment        
  • A background with all aspects of system, integration and UAT of business applications and requirement
  • 5+ years’ experience SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle), requirements gathering, system analysis and system/software integration.


Location 

This position may work from any of the following locations:  Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston, TX.  Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states:  Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah.

Supervisory Responsibility

 This position does not have supervisory responsibility. 

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.  The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required.  Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.


Travel

 Limited to no travel expectations.
