POSITION SUMMARY (Manager of External Affairs and Fundraising):

North Lawndale College Prep, a high school dedicated to academic excellence and holistic student development, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Manager of External Affairs and Fundraising. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing the school's mission by leading fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with donors, and implementing strategic initiatives to support the school's growth and enhancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising and Donor Relations:

  • Lead and execute fundraising campaigns, annual appeals, and major gift initiatives to raise $1.5 million annually
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, including alumni, parents, foundations, and community members.
  • Organize and attend events to engage donors, promote the school, and build a strong network of support.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy aligned with the school's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to identify and prioritize fundraising priorities.

Grant Writing and Research:

  • Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals and manage the application process to secure funding for specific projects and programs.

Alumni Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to connect with alumni, fostering a sense of community and pride in the school.
  • Plan and execute alumni events, reunions, and initiatives to encourage ongoing involvement and support.

Stewardship:

  • Implement stewardship programs to acknowledge and recognize donors for their contributions.
  • Provide regular updates to donors on the impact of their gifts and maintain transparency in financial reporting.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the school administration, faculty, and staff to gather information and insights that will enhance development efforts.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create marketing materials that highlight fundraising initiatives and successes.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve fundraising goals.

QUALIFICATIONS (Manager of External Affairs and Fundraising):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and development strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team.
  • Familiarity with educational institutions and understanding of high school dynamics is preferred.
