A well-established non-profit located on Chicagos west side is looking for a Fundraising Manager with experience in corporate fundraising, corporate sponsorship, corporate donations or annual giving to generate and retain grant and sponsorship revenue for their 56-year-old organization.

The Fundraising Manager will identify and pursue funding opportunities from corporate, philanthropic, and government sources, assuring that those relationships are appropriately stewarded across the organization.

This role is part of a new department and will be expected to lead the creation of SOPs, including cross-department goal setting, and collaboration; donor relationship stewarding; and the development and use of metrics, and reporting to track progress towards goal.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience with corporate sponsorship, corporate donations or corporate gift giving
  • Experience building out or managing a fundraising program
  • Accomplishments in hitting financial goals and meeting KPIs
  • Experience improving and/or establishing stand operating procedures or best practices related to donor relationship management, goal setting and/or internal collaboration.
  • Experienced in stewarding relationships with sponsors and data to support (e.g. expanding sponsorship donations, landing new donations, etc.)
  • Ability to work partially in a West Loop office and ability to travel as-needed (locally) to attend events, meetings with clients, etc.

Responsibilities to Include:

  • Understand and effectively communicate the organizations mission and theory of change to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with program staff to understand organizations activities and likely support sources.
  • Create and update the organizations fundraising plan and track performance towards goals.
  • Conduct research to identify prospects, prioritizing those that best align with the firms mission and programming.
  • Write professional, persuasive, and effective proposals and other communications to secure funding for the organizations operations.
  • Work with the Chief Strategy and Incubation Officer to track and deliver on commitments to funding partners.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with organizations, corporations and individuals.
  • Work with the CEO to plan, fundraise for, and implement growth of development department as staffing needs increase.
  • Input data into Salesforce.
  • Establish systems to effectively track and share data.
  • Present the organizations mission and goals to the public.
  • Compile presentation decks that can be shared with the board and stakeholders.
  • Identify new funding opportunities for the organization and its members.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives and events.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports.
  • Strong PowerPoint development and presentation skills.
  • Experience with grant budgeting and reporting is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and building constructive relationships with a range of people are mandatory.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and a passion for the firms mission.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work self-directed to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Skilled coordinating a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • High energy, outgoing, and pays attention to details.

  • Travel and use of personal vehicle necessary for work-related activities mileage expenses are reimbursable.
