PASL Quality Specialist


Position Summary

The PASL Quality Specialist has the primary responsibility to assist in all essential functions required for PASL.

  • PASL Quality Specialist will report directly to the Laboratory Director 
  • PASL Quality Specialist is responsible for assisting the Laboratory Director


Essential Functions

  • Ensures safe working conditions in PASL and supports Phigenics safety team objectives
  • Has a working knowledge of all PASL offerings and operations
  • Understand all SOPs for chemistry, logistics, manufacturing, and microbiology
  • Develop new SOPs and review existing SOPs on an annual basis for all chemistry, logistics, manufacturing, and microbiology methods and workflows
  • All tasks require exercise of discretion and independent judgment in important scientific laboratory procedures and operations
  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with internal and external standards
  • Ensure continuous improvement of PASL quality control and assurance by reviewing QA/QC procedures and overseeing the execution QA/QC procedures
  • Support the Corrective Action and Preventative Action process.
  • Implement and maintain the PASL Safety Program in accordance with internal and external standards
  • Maintain and review PASL safety manual on an annual basis
  • Maintain laboratory equipment through scheduling annual preventative maintenance, overseeing the calibration program, assisting in troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs
  • Execute the annual internal audit program and assist in the biennial external audit
  • Has a working knowledge in PASL computer software tools and systems (e.g. ATL Titan LIMS, Bio-Rad CFX Manager, EndoScan-V, FedEx Ship Manager) and work with other departments to ensure business needs are met


Position Requirements

  • 4-year bachelor’s of science degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of job experience in a relevant setting
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong technical verbal & written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills (team player)
  • Ability to work overtime occasionally, sometimes with little or no notice
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers – MS Office, laboratory software, and shipping programs


Accountabilities

  • Safety is our first priority. No accident is acceptable
  • Ensure execution of quality management system and related QA/QC procedures
  • Develop, maintain, and improve PASL SOPs and workflow processes
  • Facilitate training program
  • Oversee safety program and related procedures
  • Maintain equipment program and related procedures
  • Manage laboratory software and system tools
