We're seeking a dedicated Utility Engineer to join our local beverage company in St. Paul. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a supportive environment.

Position Overview: As a Utility Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for maintaining our utilities and equipment, overseeing safety practices, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position offers a daytime shift, Monday to Friday, providing a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records related to utility maintenance and wastewater treatment plant permits.
  • Perform daily utility operations and upkeep of related equipment.
  • Train and support utility and maintenance employees on work practices and procedures.
  • Propose and participate in training sessions to enhance team skills.
  • Monitor and maintain repairs, supplies, tools, and equipment for optimal performance.
  • Oversee boilers, refrigeration, air compressors, and the PH levels of the sewer system.
  • Document and read meters (gas, sewer, electric, and water) for accurate reporting.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department for necessary repairs and assist as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements related to food safety, quality, and sanitation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an engineering degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • At least a 1st Class B Boiler Engineer License; Chief B Boiler Engineer License preferred.
  • Certification and/or licenses may be required during employment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge of PSM/RMP and ammonia systems.
  • Understanding of plant operations and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to perform safety inspections and develop safety procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficiency in preventive, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures.
