At CESO, a Civil Lead Project Engineer is responsible for performing oversight of the design and preparation of engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects simultaneously. They use their technical knowledge to actively participate in both internal and external meetings as well as make recommendations based on research, observations, and experience. You will have primary responsibilities that will include:

  • Under the direction of a project manager, support civil engineers, in the daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
  • Research of design criteria based on project scope and jurisdictional requirements
  • Perform site design construction documents to include site layouts, grading, storm water, roadway, and utility layouts using Civil 3D
  • Site design calculations and analysis based on researched codes and regulations to apply it to assigned tasks
  • Conduct field site visits to obtain necessary data
  • Provide thorough and accurate documentation of calculations
  • Complete site investigation and due diligence reports
  • Compare design options and document findings to produce detailed civil engineering studies and reports
  • Review technical and civil engineering drawings and make revisions accordingly
  • Recommend continuous improvement solutions for site designs
  • Attend client meetings
  • Be a resource for internal department managers to facilitate cost estimates and design concepts
  • Manage junior team members by providing project direction
  • Motivate team members through the creation of a positive work environment by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development
  • Other project duties as assigned

Position requirements include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is preferred
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to motivate and mentor a team
