Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Payroll Tax Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that affect payroll.

  • Tax Filing and Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and filing of all payroll tax returns.
    • Ensure accurate and timely filing of quarterly and annual tax reports.

  • Audit and Reconciliation:

    • Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll tax compliance.
    • Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.

  • System Management:

    • Maintain and update payroll tax systems.
    • Collaborate with IT and HR departments to ensure system accuracy and efficiency.

  • Employee Support:

    • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll tax issues.
    • Respond to payroll tax inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll tax operations.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax management or a related role.
    • Experience with payroll software and tax filing systems.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
