Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

The Workforce Development Coordinator will join our People & Culture team. This individual will report directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager onsite in Birmingham, AL and will collaborate with both the Home Office and Field Ōninites. The Workforce Development Coordinator will work collaboratively and independently to represent and serve as an extension of the Ready to Work Program. They will be responsible for partnering with the TA Manager in designing, implementing and managing the development and growth of the Ready to Work Program. This role will include collaborating with educational institutions, employers, community and government organizations in identifying training needs, systems and job placement opportunities. This individual will exemplify Ōnin’s Core Values of Service, Integrity, Innovation and Performance and assist in encouraging our thriving best place to work culture. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, organize and oversee workforce development by establishing program schedules, milestones, and objectives, ensuring alignment with set goals and targets. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to expand student and employer enrollment by identifying and eliminating barriers. 
  • Direct oversight and/or collaboration of local workforce development programs that initiates short-term training programs and community programs for students and community partners. 
  • Act as a liaison between employer collaboratives, education partners, the local economic development, community organizations, workforce development agencies and training providers, to increase workforce pipelines. 
  • Engage with community partners to raise awareness of the RTW program, services and promote participation among target populations. 
  • Collect and maintain accurate records on program outcomes, participant demographics and monitor the effectiveness of the RTW programs and initiatives through data collection, analysis and evaluation and making recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • All other duties and work responsibilities as assigned.


Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience in workforce development, career services or related fields. ● Displays outstanding relationship building skills and verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously within a tight deadline. 
  • Comfortable working with decentralized teams and exhibits a passion for taking on responsibility and ownership of assignments. 
  • Team player that exudes a positive approach to business and is comfortable working in a creative and collaborative environment. 
  • A proven track record of utilizing both persuasion and influence to lead change initiatives. 
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a Related Field 


Extra Credit:

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP a plus
