Position: Logistics and Transport Stock Person
Location: New York, NY

Job Description:

The Logistics and Transport Stock Person plays a pivotal role in managing inventory, coordinating transportation logistics, and ensuring efficient stock control within the organization. This role involves overseeing the movement of goods, maintaining accurate records, and optimizing storage systems for timely and accurate product deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management: Oversee the organization's inventory, including receiving, storing, and distributing goods, while maintaining accurate records using inventory management software.

  2. Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock checks to ensure accuracy, minimizing discrepancies, and identifying any discrepancies or shortages.

  3. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate transportation logistics, including scheduling deliveries and pickups, collaborating with carriers, and optimizing shipping routes to ensure timely and cost-effective transport.

  4. Quality Control: Ensure that goods received meet quality standards and are properly documented; address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

  5. Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment, ensuring safety compliance and efficient utilization of storage space.

  6. Documentation: Prepare shipping documents, invoices, and other necessary paperwork for outbound shipments; maintain accurate records of all transactions and shipments.

  7. Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure smooth operations, address any logistics or inventory-related issues, and optimize stock movement.

  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in inventory management and logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or coursework in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Proven experience (2 years) in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of transportation logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices within warehouse environments.
