Position reports into: Chief Revenue Officer

My client is a a highly innovative energy technology solution provider with the mission to unlock the potential of the global renewable energy transition.  

Their GridMetrix® service offers unique stability measurement services to power grid operators (transmission and distribution), to enable power grid operators more precise control of their grid, therefore operate more safely and cost-efficiently and utilise more renewable energy in the power systems to help them achieve their Net Zero targets.  They also offers unique grid insights and forecasts to power traders through it’s Tradenergy® service. This enables customers to make smarter and faster trading decisions. We also anticipate using our own grid data to identify new insights to enable new services to be developed more widely across the energy sector.

To date it has achieved more than 100% revenue growth YoY and its business plan will continue this level of growth based on a strong global pipeline.  ROLE DESCRIPTION

For their growing US east coast sales team, they are looking for a top level, results-driven Executive Sales leader who will be responsible for continuing to expand our existing customer pipeline in Energy/Utility sector focusing on the East Coast of America. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate generate and close opportunities, drive relationships within the sector and be an integral part of the team.

As the East Coast Sales Lead you will be responsible for driving significant new revenue growth, meeting or exceeding revenue targets and continue to grow and mature a pipeline for our services and products within the East Coast region. The right candidate will be experienced in the industry, ideally in grid software/power system services, a well connected, local market expert with an extensive list of C- suite Contacts, possess knowledge of key partners and have an acceptable level of proficiency in power systems.

Ideally, be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in related technical disciplines
(Electrical Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, Electronics etc.)

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Drive material revenue growth through growing and developing a pipeline of utility customers and opportunities

Implement, Lead and Deliver our Sales Strategy in accordance with company targets.
Develop & strengthen commercial relationships with sales channels and local partners, TSOs, DNOs and Energy Traders to further the company’s involvement

Manage business development with Senior utility Leaders (C-Level to VP and Director level across operations, planning and procurement)

• Own and build a material sales pipeline for new and existing customers
• Provide up-to-date, accurate and insightful sales reporting to leadership team.
• Be customer success obsessed and act as the liaison between new/existing customers and
product development.

Ascertain customer needs and discuss how their needs could be met.
Provide feedback to products team.

• Deep knowledge and credibility in the following areas:

o Renewable integration related key issues on grid stability for Electric Utilities
o Grid Software portfolio and grid automation portfolio for both Transmission and

Distribution markets

o Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
o Proven ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization,

including executive and C-level

o Proven ability to successfully drive sales opportunities from plan to close
o Can build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships

• Have a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and how our global services and product portfolio can provide value

• Solutions driven mindset giving you the ability to map the right solutions to help customers solve problems and reach their goals

• Attend industry conferences
• Be prepared to undertake national and international travel

Key Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of working in a sales role within the US transmission/distribution (T&D) sector
• Hunter mindset with solid connections at a senior level, plus strong negotiation skills
• Experienced in Salesforce
• Measurable track record of delivering commercially and consistently achieving sales targets
• Demonstrate ability to think creatively and commercially
• Enthusiastic team player with strong analytical skills
• Can do attitude and proven adaptability
• Highly motivated and a self-starter. Experience of a start up/scale up environment would be a bonus.
